Proposed production process improvement with a lean manufacturing approach on the electrolytic tinning line

Industry competition is currently getting tighter; companies must produce quality products, deliver on time, and provide the best service to consumers. It can be real realized mini realised aste that occurs in production process achieve this. In this study, lean manufacturing will applied minimize waste by describing entire through Value Stream Mapping, identifying most dominant using Waste Assessment Model (WAM) method, selecting VALSAT tools based final weights. WAM, identification of causes Fishbone diagrams, suggestions for improvement 5 Whys Analysis. The results show dominant, namely defect with a percentage 21.66% inventory 20.34%. Proposed improvements made reduce defects traditional singing contaminant inspection conducting regular inspections, cleaning machine parts, changing coating thickness gradually, providing training operators regarding handling section, adding thermometer near steam supply. Meanwhile, waste, including storage date limit Tin Mill Black Plate (TMBP) raw material, rearranging TMBP area, periodic direction transfer process.
